I’m trying to do this but my browser is being silly and won’t let me select any options! :'(
Either way though, if I somehow ended up in Riverdale I would hit the accelerator and speed out of there asap! So much drama in such a tiny little town! (Though, I would ask Cheryl what lipstick she uses first! 😉

    xx

Oh no! I hope you can do it eventually because I’d love to know what you get! I would not want to live in that town, either, haha.

Ohh yeah I’m not sure. I know it’s going to be completely different from the original so I have no idea what to expect. It might be too dark for me, I’ll have to see. Def going to give it a try though!

LOL apparently I “don’t even go here”. 🙁 Darn it! I do like watching Riverdale, though I have problems with some aspects of the show and some of the characters’ characterizations (that’s a tongue twister to say outloud…). I really disliked the Geraldine and Archie plot. Why do teen/young adult demographic aimed shows always go for that hot teacher route? It’s gross. :/ I kinda laughed at the introduction of Veronica as the rich girl from New York. Very Gossip Girl-ish. I appreciated so much that the characters did come across at first as fitting their stereotype molds but showed more character depth than that.

LOL you’re not missing out by not living in Riverdale. It’s a crazy town! Fun to watch for the drama, but crazy. The teacher/student route definitely is gross. They should stop glamorizing that. I do appreciate how the characters are different from how they first appear, lending some more complexity. Like Veronica comes off as a rich girl, but she’s sort of a born again rich girl in that she’s over the snobby, toxic behaviors she used to have before. You can see her struggling with her past sometimes but she’s mostly owning it, which is cool. Haha as for Betty I think all of us good girls have that angry, fed-up-with-being-good-and-not-appreciated side that make us able to relate to her xD

Grundy turned out to be more creepy than I thought. I mean, wasn’t it implied that after Archie, she basically moved onto another male student? So she was a pedophile? :/

I love Veronica, but her parents piss me off. Ugh I can’t stand her dad. He’s so domineering and nuts. And her mom is manipulative and just weird with how loyal she is to her husband. I’m disappointed whatever she and Archie’s dad had going on fizzled out, though I very much liked Molly Ringwald as Archie’s mom. And only Betty could have a trademark ponytail like that which looks so good. I would look terrible with a pulled back hairstyle like that. I admit that I didn’t really take Cole Sprouse seriously as an actor until I watched him on Riverdale because I mostly remember him as a Disney Channel star.

Yeah she was definitely creepy, but I wish they did more with her than what they ended up doing because I didn’t see any real comeuppance I guess? It was rather abrupt. She’s definitely a predator and got away with everything she did pretty easily (up to the end I suppose haha).
Yeah her parents majorly suck. I think her mother went so quickly from being kickass and intriguing to sort of… bland and just there and kind of useless?? Her story with Archie’s dad really fizzled out and I think that was to make room for the Archie/Veronica line, which doesn’t intrigue me in the least. Frankly none of the romances intrigue me (I couldn’t care less about Bughead either), which might be why the second season also bored me more.
I would look so bad with that ponytail too! That’s why Kevin says nothing’s wrong with Betty’s iconic ponytail haha.
Honestly when I watched the first season, I thought Cole acted the worst despite being the most seasoned actor xD I think he got better but… it might just be his character. He’s too angsty in an awkward way to me.
Somehow this turned into me ranting about the show, but I did think it was hard to come back fully from such a good first season and it’s CW, so that’s kind of their brand with the average acting and over-the-top storylines xD

Rant away because I will too. XD

Idk how I feel about Varchie. It kinda pissed me off when Archie was changing himself just to get in Veronica’s father’s good graces. And Veronica needs to cut her toxic parents out of her life. Bughead and Betty as a couple was cute at first because I was glad Betty stopped mooning over Archie and found someone who could genuinely love her back in the way Archie could not.

The Black Hood plotline was long and way too dragged out. Really disappointed about the revelation that Betty’s half brother was dead that whole time. I’ve also heard people are insanely vocal about shipping their ships and it’s gotten to the point of twitter bullying. That’s why I stay out of shipping fandoms because some people just forget how to respect each other.

Yes Bughead is pretty angsty. XD I pretty much had Kevin’s reaction Bughead was ranting about the old drive-in getting closed down.

Over the top, indeed. I make a face every time a character’s nickname is used because it just sounds gross. “Bug” and “Archiekins” are the worst offenders. Veronica’s parents never stop calling their daughter “mija” in literally every line they say. STOP. And Cheryl and her “old world speak” where she throws in words no one uses anymore in modern day language, lol. It’s weird.

OMG SPOILER ALERT. Other readers, do not read the above post! Haha I actually didn’t watch season two, but luckily, I don’t really care. And that spoiler wasn’t thaaat bad so I’m just being dramatic for fun. I’ll actually write the rest of my comment in our email thread because it’s getting really long again xDD

Oops! 😮 It completely went over my head that I gave out a spoiler. You can totally edit my comment and censor the spoilery bits if you want to.

Fandoms are toxic, yes! I should know since how crazily mad people get over Riverdale ships reminds me of the Once Upon a Time fandom. That show has since ended its final season but boy, some of the fans never stopped badgering the writers about changing stuff on the show to suit their likes.

Which Olicity line was it? I don’t watch Arrow but google has given me the jist of who the couple is.

Yeah, Cheryl has had a pretty uneven storyline. For as far as I’ve seen of her in the recent season, they kinda introduced two things that seemed to come out of nowhere with no previous hints in earlier episodes.

You totally would survive this town haha. It’s crazy with lots of drama, but can be fun. I enjoyed the first season and couldn’t get into the second. I say give it a chance! It’s sort of a guilty pleasure watch!
