Welcome to gallantly, gal! If you’re gallant and you’re a gal, you belong here. If not, you still belong here. Basically, welcome everybody, man or woman, cowardly or brave! Because I wanted to explain what this blog is for and what it means to me, I decided to dedicate my first post to the purpose of Gallantly, gal.
Firstly, my name isn’t Gal (hence the lower case)–I’m not trying to be Gal Gadot or anything, but I am trying to be my own Wonder Woman, and I think we can all be (plus, I love alliteration–like how catchy is that?). That’s why I’m inviting you on my journey to work through my flaws and not take life so seriously. Join me as I try to balance out the high idealism I had as a child and the bitter cynicism I garnered as an adult so I can grow into a gallant, somewhat well-balanced knight who can take care of myself and others like Keladry of Mindelan does (Tamora Pierce is my favorite author, by the way) while remaining quirky and ridiculous like Don Quixote (on my to-read list).
Plus, to be honest, I am mostly an introvert, so I never want to go out, but partly an extrovert, so I get bored easily; hence, writing a blog that people like me can turn to when they want to read something interesting, distracting, and relatable seems like the perfect pastime. As you can see from the categories on Gallantly, gal, I plan to cover a lot of different topics and styles of posts, so look forward to them all!
Oh, and here’s a helpful post on internet comment sections. Time to sign off for now!
